Premiere Alert: Atlanta Cathedral Choir takes on Hail Holy Queen

You’ve heard the saying before: “When it rains it pours.” By the grace of God, we’re thrilled to share even more wonderful news with you as ASM heads toward the rainy shores of the Peach State…

Angelico Sacred Music is pleased to announce that the Atlanta Cathedral Choir of Christ the King will premiere Hail Holy Queen in late May!

Hail Holy Queen is the longest Angelico Sacred Music composition to date, and likely the most challenging as well. But gratefully, Dr. Michael Accurso and his talented singers from the largest metropolis of the American South are ready for the challenge, and eager to collaborate with ASM’s mission of creating beautiful Neo-Renaissance music for the Church.

“As a church musician, I feel it is very important to restore and promote the musical treasury of the church. The intrinsic beauty of art is an important tool to catechize, evangelize, and give the faithful a tangible experiential glimpse of the heavenly banquet,” said Dr. Accurso.

“It is important to continue to build the treasury with new music, and support the mission of Ryan Everson and the Angelico Sacred Music initiative to do that. At the Cathedral, I frequently incorporate several new pieces of sacred music. Collaborating with composers on a new piece of music is always a joy for all of us, and we look forward to our work with Ryan this spring.”

After providing a new “glimpse of the heavenly banquet” with Hail Holy Queen, the Cathedral Choir of Christ the King will be embarking on a two-week tour of Scotland and Ireland in June and July. Angelico Sacred Music is very grateful to partner with such a remarkable choir that is engaged in multiple exciting projects!

Please pray for our ASM Team during this busy season as we prepare for another premiere, and please pray for our friends in the Atlanta Cathedral Choir as well. We can’t wait to share this wonderful music with you as we honor our Heavenly Queen in the Marian month of May!
