Notre Dame Premiere!

After many months of preparation, I'm happy to share that we had a beautiful success premiering This is My Body with the University of Notre Dame Liturgical Choir on Sunday April 6, 2025!

If you weren’t able to catch the livestream, you can watch at the link below, fast-forwarding the video to the Offertory of the Mass at exactly 36:00.

A full set of photos from the professional photographer, as well as rehearsal footage, student testimonials, and a higher quality audio-only recording of This is My Body, will be available soon.

There were numerous things that made this collaboration so special. As you can hear, the students sung their hearts out and brought their A-game to perform this challenging piece. The energy in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on Sunday morning was beyond words.

But during this remarkable trip, what touched my heart even more than the singers’ angelic voices was their kind words outside of rehearsal about how this piece has moved them in prayer, and their passion for Angelico Sacred Music’s unique mission. They affirmed that we are doing something truly special and much needed in the sacred music landscape. That really means something coming from the University of Notre Dame Liturgical Choir!

Here are some of my favorite highlights that I wanted to briefly share with you:

  1. One student shared that This is My Body was his favorite piece the choir has sung all year. He said this to Dr. McShane before I arrived on campus, so he was not saying it simply to be nice to me!

  1. The choir provided zero substantive edits during the rehearsal process: a magnificent testament to Mary and Elizabeth’s work in our internal ASM editing procedure!

  1. Dr. McShane wants to collaborate with Angelico Sacred Music for another premiere, and his students passionately echoed enthusiasm for this as well! Notre Dame wants more ASM!

By the grace of God, Angelico Sacred Music is rising to new heights. We hit a big milestone yesterday, and we are so grateful for your prayerful support as we continue our mission of creating an American patrimony of Neo-Renaissance musical art.

Please pray for our friends in the University of Notre Dame Liturgical Choir, and please pray for Angelico Sacred Music as we prepare for our next premiere at the Catholic University of America on May 1!

For the beauty of the Church,
