Ryan Ayala

Communications Director

With a background in liturgical studies and pastoral ministry, I developed a deep appreciation for sacred music during my time at the University of Notre Dame, where I served on the Campus Ministry Team and was regularly immersed in the beauty of the Liturgical Choir through their Masses and concerts. These experiences helped shape both my spiritual life and my commitment to the Church’s liturgical tradition.

I currently serve as the Director of Campus Ministry at the ASU Catholic Newman Center and as an adjunct professor at Mary College at ASU. Previously, I worked as the Director of Campus Evangelization and as a theology teacher at Saint Mary’s Catholic High School. My passion for education extends beyond the classroom, including presentations on the theological and historical significance of ad orientem and the role of discussion based learning in deepening students’ understanding of theology. I also teach courses such as Introduction to the Old Testament and Catholic Moral Responsibility through the Kino Institute at the Diocesan Pastoral Center. Before relocating to Phoenix, I served as a campus minister at the University of Notre Dame. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Holy Cross College and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mary. I have been married for twelve years and am grateful for my four children.
