Hello! My name is Mary Schmitz. I am from St. Paul, MN and am currently attending the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND for my Masters in Occupational Therapy. I encountered Angelico Sacred Music when my choir had the privilege of working with Ryan Everson on Angelico's first premiere, Our Father.

My love for sacred music started young, but has grown exponentially since I became a part of the University of Mary's chapel choir, Cappella, under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Raber. Through Cappella I have learned so much about sacred music's place in the traditions of the Mass and Liturgy of the Hours as we sing for vespers 4 times a week and Mass 2 times. In Cappella, we emphasize music as a prayer to our Lord, which aligns well with the mission of Angelico: to bring hearts and minds to heaven through the beauty of music.

When I am not singing or studying, I love to read, play any sport, hike or ski depending on the season, and play lots of board games with friends or family! I am excited to be a part of the ASM team so that I can continue to share my love of the Lord through the medium of music ministry.
