Grace Hayward
Cardinal Newman Fellow
I am currently a junior at Thomas Aquinas College, California, a Catholic Liberal Arts school where all the students study the great books through the discussion method. I developed my passion for seeking Truth, Beauty, and Goodness, and especially for learning more about my Catholic Faith, when I started homeschooling in elementary school.
I am grateful to my parents for helping me to read great literature, start learning Latin, and study the teachings of the Church as well as to live my faith from a young age. Now I continue to learn more surrounded by amazing friends and faculty at TAC.
Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are talking with family and friends, reading books, hiking, playing games, and playing piano. In high school, I spent a lot of time experimenting with graphic design and photo editing, working on creating a website for our Students for Life Group and a fun Tolkien website with my friends. I am excited to take up these hobbies again for ASM!
I also have a passion for Sacred music, having taken ten years of piano lessons and a few years of voice lessons. Listening to my college’s choir sing the great Polyphony and Gregorian Chant of the past leads me to a greater love for God and for the Church. I am excited to help ASM create 21st Century American Sacred Music to add to the Church’s great wealth of beauty!
I would like to thank all ASM patrons for making it possible for me to have this internship. I enjoy working with graphic design and writing, and it is a great blessing to be able to gain more experience in these areas in order to serve the Church in a special way.
